A room where you can hear the difference

Located just off South Congress in the heart of Austin, King Electric Recording was built from the ground up to balance creative freedom with uncompromising technical excellence. At the center of the studio is a vintage 24-channel Neve V51 console, paired with a 24-track 2" tape machine and fully integrated Pro Tools and Logic systems. A collection of nearly 100 microphones, ranging from sought-after classics to rare and unconventional gems, complements an extensive selection of outboard gear spanning the history of recorded sound. Behind the scenes, an intentionally streamlined signal path and workflow ensure exceptional efficiency, maximizing creative momentum and virtually eliminating downtime.

Every detail of our six-room facility was designed with both acoustics and inspiration in mind. From the century-old one-inch maple flooring beneath your feet to the custom acoustician-designed control room, each space was carefully crafted to provide an environment that feels effortless, comfortable, and deeply conducive to making great records.

The studio is also home to an exceptional collection of instruments, including a meticulously restored vintage Steinway grand piano, rare guitars, amplifiers and effects, vintage synthesizers, a Wurlitzer 200A, Hammond B3, and arguably the most gorgeous sounding Rhodes you’ll ever hear.

Whether you're tracking a full band, producing a record, or exploring new ideas, our goal is simple: to help bring your vision to life in a creative, welcoming, and low-stress environment where great music can thrive.
